The name Jiaolin Tingyu evokes the poetic image of rain falling on banana leaves — one of the most enduring motifs in classical Chinese aesthetics.
This guqin is handcrafted by the artisans of Seven String Qin as a faithful 1:1 replica of an antique instrument preserved in the Palace Museum (故宫博物院). Every detail has been meticulously reproduced: the original form, the traditional putty and raw lacquer (腻子与生漆) finishing, the inscriptions carved into the soundboard base, and even the naturally formed Ice-crack Craquelure — the distinctive web of fine cracks that only centuries of aging can produce. No detail has been spared in honoring the original artifact.
