RETURN & REFUND POLICY

At Seven String Qin, each guqin is a handcrafted instrument made with traditional techniques and premium materials. Due to the nature of handcrafted musical instruments, we do not accept returns or exchanges for reasons of personal preference or change of mind.

As a living art object, the guqin is highly sensitive to changes in temperature, humidity, and handling. Once an instrument leaves our workshop and enters a new environment, its condition can be influenced by factors beyond our control. For this reason, our return policy is designed to protect the integrity of each instrument while ensuring a fair and transparent process for our customers.

Inspect Upon Delivery

Please inspect your instrument immediately upon delivery. All guqin are carefully examined and documented before shipment to ensure they leave us in perfect condition.

Eligible Claims (Shipping Damage — 24 Hours)

If your instrument arrives with visible damage caused during shipping — including cracks, dents, scratched lacquer, or missing accessories — please contact us within 24 hours of delivery at info@sevenstringqin.com with:

  • Photos or video clearly documenting the damage
  • Photos of the original packaging

The delivery timestamp recorded by the carrier serves as the official start of the 24-hour inspection window. Claims submitted after this period cannot be accepted, as we are unable to determine whether damage occurred during transit or after the instrument entered the customer's environment.

For approved claims, Seven String Qin will cover return shipping costs and arrange a replacement or full refund upon verification.

Repair Service

If your instrument develops issues after the 24-hour acceptance window, we offer a professional restoration and repair service as a separate paid engagement. Please contact us to discuss the scope of work and associated fees. Should you choose to proceed, you will be responsible for shipping the instrument to our workshop at your own expense.

Made-to-Order Instruments

All custom and made-to-order guqin are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged under any circumstances.

Return Shipping

For approved returns due to shipping damage reported within 24 hours of delivery, return shipping costs will be covered by Seven String Qin. For all other cases, return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
